Mapping & Map Spoke EAST

For we've continued our research on pathways into the (urban) greens as well as our collaboration with the GrünGürtel, we will (hopefully soon) present a second map documenting our project work – this time exploring the neighbourhood of the eastern spoke. We've done another public GrünGürtel walk, the "Sunday Stroll Spoke EAST", called "Pavement & Beach" – in German: "Pflaster & Strand". We chose this title – obviously a hommage to the famous 1968 quote "Unter dem Pflaster wuchert der Strand" ("Under the pavement the beach is growing") as well as to Frankfurt's famous city zine, Pflasterstand – for we indeed chose a path that led us from the grey roads to the beaches of the river Main.

Once again, in addition to our regulars – stopping by at interesting places, reporting about their history and present, talking with invited experts – we used several tools for an active participation of the public. This time, together with the "Green Belt Stripe" set as markers in real space we invited the participants to take part in a "Microclimate Mapping".

Please note: The Map is currently still heavily under construction – apart from necessary adjustments of GPS coordinates, we will still need some time to link each marker with the related background information, photos and other documents. Thank you for yor patience!
